Lo-Fi  Hi-Five

A Chill Jam 2019 Entry

The Chillest Project I Worked On

12 Hour Power Through

This jam was meant to ease in newcomers to the game design programs at DePaul Unversity and Columbia College in Chicago. Most of my teammates on this project were first timers and they did well. This Jam was only 12 hours as it started on a Friday evening and ended on Saturday afternoon.

This game is all about relaxation to represent the jam we were in. We went for a pixel style as it would be the quickest to implement and it also fit the music we had. The sound track in game was created by one of our teammate's brother and has a retro, lo-fi vibe. This game asset wise was not too heavy so we were able to divvy up tasks easily. The main loop is to high five as many people as you go down the street to have color return to the world.

I worked as an artist on the title screen assets and other assets in the level such as the sidewalk and rain.
