Why Game Design?

Gaming has been a huge part of my life since I was single digits. It started with the original Xbox and it expanded from there. As I got older, I realized that games are more than just entertainment or a form of escapism. For some, it is a way to stay in touch with friends or the way to make friends. For others, it was a way to express themselves or find a community that accepted them for who they were.

Fun is a universal language and I feel games speak it the best. They provide different, unique interactions and stories such as Raiding the Vault of Glass for the first time, trading your first pokemon, or surviving your first legendary campaign. It is a distinct kind of thrill and is something that creates some sort of virtual camaraderie.

That sense of community is something I was fortunate enough to experience. Whether if I was playing or developing a game, it all led to me meeting some of the coolest, most passionate people and some of my greatest friends and mentors. Because of this, I feel the obligation to help create something great that would give the next generation the opportunity to experience what I was able to enjoy.

Besides Gaming

Sneakers. Fashion. Art. Music.

As much as I love games, I am also passionate in other facets of life and creativity!

Sneakers and Fashion, like games, have allowed me to meet some of the coolest people out in Chicago. Fashion is way to express yourself without saying something. I am always a proponent for anything that allows people to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. I am an avid adidas collector, so if you ever see me in person, 95% of the time I will be rocking the brand with the 3 stripes.

Art, although it is not my strong suit, is something I strive to get better at on the side. These days you can find me modeling and texturing assets for fun or creating random art on Adobe Illustrator. Photography is also an interest of mine in this category. I may not have a camera yet, but that does not stop me from shooting pictures and sharing them on my Instagram.

Music is what keeps me going. I always need some tunes playing in the background whenever I am working on something. My usual genres are Hip-Hop, RnB and some EDM. I have recently begun to tinker with composing music, but we'll see how that goes.

Always ready to explore and try something new!
